Strict compliance with Namibian regulations and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines on reducing the risk of spreading the Covid-19 virus has helped keep freight moving through Namibia into neighbouring Southern African Development Community (SADC) countries, according to African Union Cargo marketing and sales manager, Traolach Moylan.
“AUC has taken stringent measures to implement procedures to ensure the full safety of its staff, clients and partners since the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the Covid-19 virus a global pandemic.
“During these trying times the key priority is to curb the spread of the disease while at the same time ensuring that AUC maintains a high operational level to serve our customers, both locally and internationally.
“Working within the guidelines of the government of Namibia and Namport, AUC has been able to continue to remain fully operational.
“We understand that the free flow of SADC transit cargo is essential to the wellbeing of Namibia’s neighbouring countries Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo and Botswana,” says Moylan.
