A RECENT study into the antidumping regimes of four developing countries - South Africa, Brazil, China and India - reveals that the use of the antidumping instrument by these countries has increased since 1995. All these countries have been significant targets of antidumping action by other countries which partially explains the reasons for their actions. Commissioned by the Swedish National Board of Trade, the report urges the European Union to restrict its use of antidumping instruments against developing countries and calls for stricter rules on its use within the Doha Round of World Trade Organisation negotiations.
