Once again the Ugandan government is planning to resurrect its national carrier after the previous Uganda Airlines was banned from flying last year because of “safety issues”.
At present, the authorities are debating the business model to be used, and discussing whether it should lease or buy the new aircraft for the airline fleet.
It has also instructed the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) to conduct the reinstatement of the national carrier within six months – with hopes for take-off early next year.
