The global carrier alliance 2M (Maersk Line/MSC) has clearance for the planned expansion of its vessel-sharing agreement (VSA), reports the Journal of Commerce.
This allows it to open up its US trade lanes to Russia, Israel and Saudi Arabia.
According to JOC, the alliance was effectively given the green light after a 45-day review expired on Thursday (July 23) without any action taken by the US Federal Maritime Commission (FMC).
