Safmarine is upbeat about Namibia’s growth prospects as the country continues to explore the potential offered by new markets, both in terms of imports and exports, says country manager Waldi Schickerling who celebrates her 10th anniversary with Safmarine this year. Heading up an all-female customer service team based in Walvis Bay, Schickerling says the line is determined to grow its containerised and noncontainerised cargo volumes. The Safmarine Namibia team was recently strengthened with the appointment of Linette Booysen (export customer service agent) who joins DeeDee Du Toit (export customer service agent) and Susan Beukes (senior customer service agent. Together they represent the ‘face of Safmarine’ in Namibia, with Maersk Namibia acting as agents for Safmarine on all operational and legislative matters.
