ZIMBABWE'S DEFUNCT national cargo airline Affretair says it has started a service to Luanda, despite not owning or leasing any aircraft.
M.d Godfrey Manhambara says a Boeing 727 is flying each week on a Tuesday, with a maximum of 12 pallets and and a capacity of 25 tonnes of freight.
Sources within the aviation industry say that the aircraft is actually owned by DHL Aviation, which Affretair is leasing space.
We hope that the new service and the other regional destinations will provide exporters and importers in Zimbabwe with a reliable and cost effective service and thus boost regional and international trade flows, says Manhambara.
