The European planemaker, Airbus, looks set to be the winner in the annual battle between it and the US-based Boeing for most orders in 2015.
Its gross orders totalled 1 079 aircraft between January and November, with net orders of 1 007.
Boeing recorded 655 gross orders between January 1 and December 2, or 568 net orders after cancellations and conversions.
