The recent introduction by
Air Namibia of four weekly
flights between Windhoek-
Gaborone and Durban and
Windhoek-Harare
and Lusaka
has exceeded
business growth
expectations,
according to
country manager
of general sales
agent ATC
Aviation Services,
Gerd von
Mansberg.
It’s all part and
parcel of the airline’s objective to
expand its network of services and
grow cargo and passenger volumes
both within Africa and globally.
Air Namibia’s fleet of 10 aircraft
includes two A330s that operate
daily flights between Windhoek and
Frankfurt.
“We do offer cargo services
beyond Frankfurt through interline
partners,” Von
Mansberg told
FTW. “These
A330 aircraft
offer up to 15
tons of capacity
and can handle
all cargo
commodities.”
For regional
distribution, four
A319s operate
three daily
schedules between Windhoek and
Johannesburg, two daily flights
between Windhoek and Cape Town
as well as daily services between
Windhoek and Luanda.
Four ERJs are deployed
for domestic distribution to
Ondangwa, Rundu, Katima
Mulilo, Luderitz and
Oranjemund.
This is in addition
to the airline’s daily
flights between
Johannesburg and
Cape Town to Walvis
Bay.
“The airline has
the capability to
extend cargo needs
to trucks and courier
services to suit
the customer’s
specific needs,”
Von Mansberg
added.
The airline
is E-IOSA
and ACC300
certified.
