AIDC study identifies bottlenecks

A NUMBER of logistics bottlenecks between Port Elizabeth and Gauteng and Durban have been identified in an Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC) study commissioned by the Nelson Mandela Bay municipality. The aim is to achieve efficiency improvements of up to 8 % in automotive transportation within four years. The AIDC has consequently mapped the movement of automotive freight and identified opportunities for optimisation and cost savings, including improved service levels and the reduction of bottlenecks and imbalances.
