Empowerment fledgling offers full range
OFFERING ITS customers peace of mind into Africa is the undertaking of empowerment logistics company Afrilogix.
It’s a bold assertion in a market which, without experience, expertise and the right contacts, can be a minefield. But for Afrilogix managing director Nisa Dawood, who has all three in abundance, it’s an undertaking she has honoured time and again.
The recently-established company has set its niche targets on project cargo, particularly into Africa, where Dawood has notched up considerable expertise, previously as the project co-ordinator for SDV.
But the scope of the company extends to the full range of supply chain and logistics services by all transport modes.
And Dawood has seen growing demand for airfreight into the region
for a variety of reasons.
“Because of the economic climate there has been a slow-down in exports and people tend to be airfreighting more. We seized the opportunity of expanding our business in that direction.
“In addition, shipping lines often don’t serve the more remote areas, so a lot of shippers are switching to airfreight.”
“My background is in Africa. I know the peculiarities of the region, I’ve travelled the region extensively, and can now share this expertise with exporters keen to tap into this lucrative market on our doorstep.”
