Air connectivity between Cape Town and the rest of Africa is on an upward trajectory, according to trade and investment agency for the Western Cape, Wesgro. Wesgro CEO Tim Harris said three airlines had announced an increase in capacity or flights on its routes to the city over the past few weeks. Kenya Airways will launch a thrice-weekly direct route between Nairobi and Cape Town from June 6, TAAG Angola Airlines will increase capacity from Luanda to Cape Town from three to four flights per week starting on March 25, and Air Mauritius has announced it will also increase capacity on its route to Cape Town from March 28.
