Aerotropolis business chamber targets investment

The newly established Aerotropolis Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Publicity (ACIP) – based in Ekurhuleni – is planning a ‘Doing Business in Ekurhuleni’ showcase event next year to draw local and international investment in the project.

Derek Fox, who was appointed CEO of the Chamber this month, said: “Current national growth rates of one percent and two percent are not going to create the opportunities for business development and investment. We therefore need to put our marketing and networking events on steroids to showcase the opportunities for growth beyond national borders to the regional and international communities.”

The City of Ekurhuleni recently approved the 30-year ‘Aerotropolis Masterplan’ which identified projects in sectors such as retail, aerospace, manufacturing, logistics and distribution, health and life sciences, to enable economic turnaround in the Gauteng region.
