Neutral consolidator Aero Africa has extended their operation in the United Arab Emirates and China by launching a new Sea Air Solution (SAS) product which will enable transportation from Asia to 70 African facilities via Dubai.
The SAS products provide users with extra benefits in connection to regional airlines, airports, shipping, sea ports, forwarders, importers, exporters, and their economies.
The Dubai stopover acts as a strategic point in terms of infrastructure, facilities, times, storage costs, and transport.
The products aim to assist intra-African congestion, improve transportation times, delivery dates, and reduce the carbon emissions created as a result of freight.
A pioneer in multimodal transport and Advisory Board chairperson at Aero Africa, Professor Issa Baluch said: “SAS is responsive to clients’ needs for a solution to service their logistical dilemma between Asia and Africa.
“Sea-Air multimodal Transport is quite demanding in terms of the links in the chain, and it is refreshing to see Aero Africa dedicating their team in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, all focused on delivering an integrated multimodal solution to the satisfaction of their clients.”
He added that SAS is faster than sea freight and more economical than airfreight, and it reduces CO2 emissions by up to 50%.
According to Jay Cameron, Aero Africa’s corporate product director, SAS documentation is overseen by a CTD, a single non-negotiable cohesive document that combines AWB and Bill of Lading, and is governed by Standard Conditions (1997) of the Fiata multimodal Transport Waybill.
Joey Xu, Aero Africa’s director for Airfreight Asia, said: “Freight forwarders and their clients can now avoid congested shipping lanes with long transit time – particularly to land-locked African countries and West Africa.
“They can also manage efficiently complex supply chain lead times and utilise strong pre-booked cargo capacity and block space agreements ex Dubai to Africa.
“SAS estimated transit times from Asia to Africa range from 17-25 days depending on the origin and destination, while we only offer direct ocean carrier FCL services to Jebel Ali with weekly departures, and we maintain full control of cargo and capacity with our own service centres in China, UAE, and Africa.”
