ETIHAD CRYSTAL Cargo, the cargo division of United Arab Emirates national airline Etihad Airways, has appointed Airline Cargo Resources (ACR) as its general sales and services agent. The airline, which launched a twice-weekly direct service to Johannesburg in December, says more frequencies are currently under discussion. South African Airways is the ground handling agent. According to the South African embassy in Abu Dhabi, trade between the UAE and South Africa was up 45% in 2005 over 2004. Ingo Roessler, VP Cargo at Etihad Crystal Cargo, has identified the route as one with high payload and profitability potential.
