135-ton boilers move from RB to Secunda

The transport of four 135 ton heat boilers from the Port of Richards Bay to Sasol in Secunda was all in a day’s work for the operators involved. Two were delivered in July, with the second pair arriving this month. “The first two boilers were received onto two separate 9-axle Cometto trailer combinations by means of the ship’s gear,” a spokesman for heavy lift specialist ALE told FTW. “They were then transported in convoy via the abnormal route through Swaziland to site where they were offloaded. “For the second set we used a 16-axle line, 3-file Nicolas & Goldhofer multi axle trailer for each boiler,” he said.
