Own Transport is Required
Valid driver’s license
Minimum of 5 years’ working experience in Container environment
Willing to work shifts, overtime and weekends
Must not have a criminal record
My client is seeking a Container Depot Controller to join their team in Bayhead DBN
Ensure that all trucks that require diesel are filled up
Ensure all drivers requesting a tag and seals to fill up diesel, hand in their completed inspection sheet
Ensure that the correct container is loaded onto the correct truck for delivery
Ensure driver are hooked up with the correct trailer combination before proceeding with the dispatch
Ensure al heavy cargo’s, 8 tonners, single diffs or any combination vehicles weigh their axles before departing
Ensure a container stock count for all empties and tankers are done Mon – Sat daily
Ensure a container count of all full containers are done on Tuesday s, Thursdays and Saturdays
Ensure all diesel tags are returned to the depot by the diesel attendant
Ensure that all the empty containers for Durban are stacked together & the containers for JHB are stacked together
Communicate with the transport supervisor to establish when bulk orders are due to ensure they are blocked stacked according to the client’s delivery requests
Ensure depot is neat at all times, should housekeeping be required, make the required arrangements with the maintenance department
This position will work 6-18:00 day shift for 6 days then off for 3 days then again 18:00 – 6:00 nightshift and 3 days off. This is mostly outside and dealing with drivers, trucks in and out the yard and containers
