A focus on training has
ensured that the Shipping
& Forwarding Agents’
Association of Zimbabwe
(SFAAZ) remains “a cut
above the rest locally and
regionally,” says chairman
Felix Nyaruwanga.
According to
Nyaruwanga, Zimbabwe is
one of only seven countries
in the whole of Africa that
are accredited to offer
the international diploma
in freight forwarding by
Fiata, the world body.
“We will continue to
guard this achievement
very jealously through
delivery of well-tailored
industry programmes that
produce the best out of our
graduates,” he says in his
annual report for 2014.
“Several of our qualified
graduates have already
received their international
diplomas from Fiata.
“We need to take this
achievement a notch higher
and go for the Higher
Diploma in Supply Chain
Management which South
Africa has now been
accredited to offer.
“To this end,
we are hoping
to compile
the necessary
training
material for
consideration
by Fiata during
the March 2015 validation
period,” he said.
SFAAZ CEO Joseph
Musariri has been
appointed to the Fiata
advisory body on
vocational training
as an ad-hoc
member pending
admission to full
membership as
soon as a vacancy
arises.
