Terry Hutson MEDITERRANEAN SHIPPING Company (MSC) has been named "The Shipping Line of the Year" by Lloyds List. MSC president Gianluigi Aponte said it was the combination of MSC's professionalism, dedication and determination that had won the accolade. So far this year MSC has added an average of two ships a month, and has the new MSC Alice, sister ship to MSC Sandra, coming into service next month. MSC was once noted for having a fleet of well maintained, not so young ships, but this has changed dramatically in recent years. Today 80% of the fleet consists of very big and young ships.
