THE WORLD Trade Organisation (WTO) is forecasting a 7.5% growth in global trade this year. International trade in goods rose 4.5% in 2003, said the organisation, and based its forecast of increased growth this year on the world recovering from economic turmoil, the Iraq war and the outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).
