Regional consolidation specialists Botswana Consolidators have introduced a weekly service between Gauteng and Lusaka. “We introduced the service because a number of clients are looking for a one-stop shop to handle all their transport into southern Africa rather than having to deal with multiple service providers,” says Jody Balanco of Botswana Consolidators. The company provides daily consolidations between Gauteng and Gaborone, bi-weekly into Swaziland and Francistown, and weekly into Zambia. Full load services are offered to all the BLNS countries as well as all SADC countries except Tanzania, DRC and Angola. For the Zambia routing Botswana Consolidators has assigned 10 horses to the service, which at present focuses on north-bound freight. One vehicle is assigned to the consolidation every week. Cargo is unpacked at CML Logistics in Lusaka, which assists with the distribution in Zambia. Botswana Consolidators can also support FTL shipments between Botswana and Zambia. “We are well positioned in Botswana with depots in Gaborone and Francistown to meet and support any increase in demand for cargo on that route,” he told FTW.
