SEVERE HAIL and rain in the Orange River grape producing region will result in the loss of some 1.2 million cartons of exports this year.
The region is now expected to produce 16 million cartons of mainly seedless grapes during the forthcoming season, which would still be in excess of last yearÕs 14.5 million cartons.
The total South African table grape crop is expected to be more than 50 million cartons.
