'We take over vessel delay hassles'

Manufacturers don't have
time for problems that lie along
the route

MANUFACTURERS NEED to concentrate on their core business and haven't the time to concern themselves with the problems that lie along the route between point of loading and that of delivery of their goods. Outsourcing is therefore their answer.
That's where we come in, says Christopher McGrath, Birkart Globistics national sales manager.
Take the motor manufacturing sector and the component suppliers as an example. They need to concentrate on their production lines. They don't want the hassles of vessels being delayed, aircraft dumping consignments or transport trucks breaking down.
We firmly believe that we are giving the right service by offering what we term a one-stop shop, concentrating on the outsourcing of our logistics capability. We can and will deliver all forms of transportation in this manner.
We are currently involved in a couple of projects where we control the collection of raw materials from their European source and move them through to consolidation, then ship them to deconsolidate in this country. We move them to a warehouse and have them available for delivery to the consignee as required, all on a just-in-time basis.
The advent of e-commerce has taken the world by storm and the big manufacturing companies realise the value of it, he says.
