IN LINE with government initiatives to improve cross-border clearing procedures, Freight Fusion Systems (FFS) not only provides software but can assist transporters in setting themselves up to face the demands of EDI which will soon become the norm when exporting cargo overborder. “It’s either conforming to EDI or your trucks spend hours or even days waiting to be customs-cleared at the borders,” CEO Brian Mulligan told FTW. The company can offer express clearance at all SA border posts with its “Frontier” software specifically developed with the road freight industry in mind, says Mulligan. “It’s extremely user friendly and includes all documents required to facilitate exports of all kinds. It is fully EDI enabled, allowing users anywhere in the country to process overborder export files on behalf of their clients. “A built-in message tracking system makes it easy to keep trace of EDI message interchanges with SA Revenue Service.” An acquittal module, which has already been developed, provides transporters with a full management system for their road bonds. “The system is aligned with Customs requirements and includes a manifest option conforming to the SARS MAS system. It can be easily integrated with any accounting package,” Mulligan added. Freight Fusion Systems recently relocated to new premises in Kempton Park.
