US seeks comment on GSP

THE US programme for generalised system of preference (GSP) for SA exporters is due to expire at the end of the year and, according to customs and trade consultants, Deloitte, this will need action from SA exporters – or the current duty preferences they enjoy might be removed. The GSP programme expires on December 31, and the US trade policy staff committee (TPSC) is seeking comments on the eligibility status of the following GSP-beneficiary developing countries: Argentina, Brazil, Croatia, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Philippines, Romania, Russia, SA, Thailand, Turkey and Venezuela.
