IN THE wake of the September 11 terror attacks, the US government is now insisting ships over 300 gross tonnage wishing to enter its ports must give a 96-hour advance notice, according to internet news service SchedNet. Ships are now required to provide details of their crew, passengers and cargo before being allowed entry to US ports.
