US free trade talks deadlock

ANNA COX FREE TRADE talks between the Southern African Customs Union (SACU) and the US have deadlocked. Negotiators are refusing to say much except that the complex nature of trade negotiations had ‘slowed down’ the process. Both sides have agreed to take time off to clarify issues internally. The talks were supposed to have been completed by the end of the year but, at this stage, it appears unlikely that another meeting will be scheduled this year.
