WITH THE acquisition and relocation of the local Menlo Worldwide Forwarding staff into UPS South Africa having been accomplished smoothly, the company is set for growth. And the automotive sector is a top priority. “It’s one of South Africa’s fastest growing export industries,” says UPS-SCS managing director Paul Horsfall. “Menlo moves huge volumes from Europe to the US in particular, and they’re very big on the automotive side.” While UPS South Africa has been involved in this sector, the company is now set to grow its share on the back of the strategic and operational benefits provided by the Menlo acquisition. UPS has absorbed the staff from Menlo’s five South African offices.
