THE ATLANTA-headquartered UPS group, of which local forwarder Fritz recently became a member, has pledged to provide $5 million in disaster relief assistance in the wake of the tragic incidents in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania.
The assistance includes $2 million in cash and $3 million of in-kind logistical and transportation services, plus scores of UPS volunteers who are assisting with the relief efforts.
"Over the past week, UPS has provided its people, vehicles, aircraft and expertise to numerous recovery activities," said UPS chairman and CEO, Jim Kelly.
