Unframed Glass Mirror Sunset Review – Comment due

Publish Date:
24 Feb 2016

Itac on 19 February 2016 announced the initiation of a sunset review of the anti-dumping duties on unframed glass mirrors originating in or imported from India. It follows an Itac notification on 19 June 2015 that unless a duly substantiated request is made by or on behalf of the Southern African Customs Union (Sacu) industry, indicating that the expiry of the anti-dumping duty against the imports of unframed glass mirrors originating in or imported from India would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping and injury, the anti-dumping duties on unframed glass mirrors originating in or imported from India will expire on 03 March 2016.

The anti-dumping duties were first imposed on 25 October 2006.

A response to the sunset review application questionnaire was received from PFG Building Glass (Pty) Ltd, a division of PG Group (Pty) Limited, on behalf of the Sacu industry on 11 September 2015.

The investigation period for dumping is from 01 July 2014 to 31 June 2015 and the material injury investigation involves the evaluation of data for the period 01 July 2012 to 30 June 2015 - and 2016 estimates in the event the anti-dumping duty expires.

Comment is due by 29 March 2016.
