RAY SMUTS THE 2ND Nederburg Auction, to be held at Paarl on April 7 and 8 next year, will showcase 1656 South African wines. Newly-appointed auction manager Christine Joubert says the event, one of the top five in the world, reverts to two days to cater for both ends of the wine spectrum. Duimpie Bayly, who headed one of the tasting panels and is a consultant to the Nederburg Auction, says quality specifications have become more stringent over the past three years.
