Twala Global celebrates 5-year milestone

Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment company, Twala Global Cargo, has celebrated its fifth birthday. Operating from its head office and logistics centre at Aeroport Industrial Estate in Kempton Park and at branches in Durban and Cape Town, the company offers a full range of international freight forwarding and customs broking services. “The message is that around South Africa importers and exporters want the benefits of dealing with a genuine empowerment service provider with international muscle,” says Richard Adamson, managing director of the enterprise development company in the BALtrans Clover Cargo Group. The company has access to a worldwide network of offices that spans traditional trading partners throughout Europe and North America. It also offers extensive coverage of the Asia Pacific region, including representation across China, South Africa’s fastest-growing partner, says Adamson. Twala Global is a Level 1 BEE company, in full compliance with BEE regulation and codes of good practice, he added. “The final empowerment ingredient was an initiative whereby our people participate in the success of the business,” said Adamson “They are all shareholders in Twala Empowerment, a staff empowerment company that owns 25.1% of Twala Global Cargo. This benefits our clients because it gives employees a vested interest in satisfying client needs to retain and grow the business.” Twala Global Cargo serves clients across the industrial spectrum with air, sea and road services and has particular strengths in the areas of ICT, engineering, mining and chemicals, he added.
