A decade on … able to smile through the tough times is African Transit Cargo’s Mario Nobrega. KEVIN MAYHEW AFRICAN TRANSIT Cargo celebrates its tenth anniversary this year and bases its success on a 24-hour hands-on service. Originally established in Johannesburg, the company subsequently moved to Durban and has remained tightly-controlled, says co-owner Mario Nobrega. “We have weathered the ups and downs and pride ourselves on our ability to be on hand 24 hours a day, making optimum use of our own vehicle fleet, including specialised trailers.” Co-owned by his wife Catherine, the company handles containers and breakbulk cargo and all vehicles are satellite tracked.
