Alan Peat ALTHOUGH THE second hearing this month was concluded today (July 19) there is still no firm news on the fate of Spoornet c.e. Zandile Jakavula, according to Transnet spokesman, Tami Didiza. The series of investigations and hearings followed Jakavula's suspension in early June after allegations of improper practices concerning the sale of Spoornet houses Ð for which Spoornet's head of property management, Chain Vilazaki, was also suspended. In the charge sheet from Transnet, Jakavula was accused of acting inappropriately in purchasing a former Spoornet house in Port Alfred. Viliazaki, as the person in charge of property deals at the rail parastatal, was considered to have played a major role in securing the property for Jakavula at R80 000, which local property agents suggested was far below the current market rates in the area.
