Trade indices ease

THERE WAS a slight improvement in the industry perception of SA trade conditions in September, according to the Sacob/ Standard Bank SA trade management indices (SATMI). The trade activity index (TAI) eased up from August’s 47 to 49 in September. But this, said the SATMI report, is still below the critical value of 50, suggesting that trading conditions are remaining quite tough.
