THE LATEST Standard Bank /Sacob SA trade management indices (SATMI) survey indicates that trade activity “is now dangerously losing steam”. The trade activity index (TAI) registered 43 in May compared to 51 in April - the lowest value for the index since it was first reported in August 2000. “The critical level for the index,” said the report, “is 50 where conditions are seen to remain the same.”
