'Time to move on e-tolling'

South Africans to be
responsible and respect
the Constitutional Court
decision that has given
e-tolling in Gauteng the
go-ahead.
Alli said while the
debate around the
Gauteng Freeway
Improvement Project
(GFIP) had been ongoing
for some time, it was
now time to move on
and respect the court’s
decision.
“Given the fact that the
money pot to fund new
transport infrastructure
is small, I appeal to all
South Africans, now
that the highest court in
the land has pronounced
on e-tolling, to respect
this,” he said. “Otherwise
there will be an erosion
of the rule of law in this
country. And that is a
slippery slope we don’t
want to go down.”
