TIMBER GROWERS have called for urgent talks with Spoornet following the rail utility”s announcement that it is considering closing some lines which it considers unprofitable. These affect timber operations in KwaZulu Natal, Mpumalanga and parts of the Eastern Cape. Mainly affected are branch lines, upon which timber movements are dependent.
