Three lines launch Asia - West Africa service

Alan Peat A THREE line ship-sharing agreement will launch a new service on the SE Asia-Indian Ocean-SA-West Africa sea trade in September. The CMA-CGM group's Australian subsidiary, ANL CL, has linked with the Gold Star Line and the China Shipping Container Lines and will deploy 10 container vessels of 1 200 TEU (twenty foot equivalent unit) capacity in a weekly service schedule. This will follow a port rotation of Ho Chi Minh City; Bangkok; Laem Chabang, Port Kelang; Colombo; Reunion; Durban; Lagos; Tema; Cotonou; Lome; Abidjan. Information released to FTW indicates that ANL CL will sub-contract the marketing to the CMA-CGM agency network - with Inchcape Shipping being the SA agents.
