The startling figures behind SA’s citrus export growth

The extent of South Africa’s citrus export growth was thrown into sharp relief at a recent Citrus Marketing Forum where a press report from 1965 was read to the delegates.

According to the report South Africa had just reached 10 million export cartons, and was considered one of the world’s leading citrus exporters. Fifty years later and the industry is now within touching distance of 120 million cartons.
