Terminal operator denies ‘for sale’ report

ALAN PEAT IN A media shouting match, the CSX Corporation has denied Hong Kong reports that its subsidiary CSX World Terminals (CSXWT) is to be sold. Gary Sease, CSX’s spokesman in Florida, has categorically denied reports. This followed a front-page report in the South China Morning Post (SCMP) quoting “industry sources” saying that CSX needed “to raise funds, and is looking to unload the group’s global terminal network (CSXWT)”. The company is one of the contenders for the concessioning of the Durban Container Terminal.
