On 08 April 2011 the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (Itac) announced its final determination with respect to the sunset review of the anti-dumping duty on paper-insulated lead-covered electric cables originating in or imported from India. Itac recommend to the Minister of Trade and Industry that the anti-dumping duty be maintained at a rate of 65.47%. The anti-dumping duty will remain in place for another five years unless a review is requested and initiated prior to its expiry date. Accounting for the fact that no Southern African Customs Union (Sacu) importer or overseas exporter took part in this investigation, such an intervention seems highly unlikely.
