As everyone intimately involved in the steel industry is aware, ITAC is doing a total overhaul of the import regime associated with steel imports into South Africa. This includes a review of the current import duty, rebate items, and import restrictions.
Government Notices calling for comments from the public on the proposed changes are published regularly. Those involved in the importation and/or local manufacture of steel and/or steel products must ensure that they are kept up to date on the progress of the investigation and must exercise their right to comment if necessary.
