ECU-LINE Antwerp has opted for the services of CMA-CGM for its direct service to Colombo, Sri Lanka, which could reduce transit times to as low as 16 days. In a statement Ecu-Line – which opened a dedicated office in Sri Lanka on July 1 this year – said the move was in line with its programme to take advantage of Sri Lanka’s geographical position and sailing opportunities to Europe and the United Kingdom. Its Colombo office was looking to strengthen ties with both India and Dubai to achieve a stronger presence in these areas.
