CARSTEN SPOHR has been appointed CEO and chairman of the executive board of Lufthansa for a three-year term. He will head up Lufthansa Cargo with effect from January 15, 2007, taking over from Jean-Peter Jansen who stepped down as chairman for health reasons in March this year. Stefan Lauer, a member of the executive board of Deutsche Lufthansa, who took over as interim chairman, will return to his post as supervisory board chairman of Lufthansa Cargo. Spohr has been executive vice president services and human resources on the board of Lufthansa Passenger Airlines since October 2004.
