SA PORT Operations has introduced a separate tariff scale for 45-foot containers.
The new landing and shipping charges for containers at all ports are R677 for a general or reefer (refrigerated) 20-ft (6-metre) container, and R946 for a hazardous box.
The 40-ft (12-m) general or reefer containers will pay R1 015, and R1 419 for hazardous.
For the new 45-ft delineation, exporters and importers will face charges of R1 354 for general/reefer, and R1 892 for hazardous.
