Short sales videos work for exporters on internet

Joy Orlek A GROUND-breaking new service that uses inexpensive internet streaming to market export products to prospects in the developed world has just been launched. The brainchild of FTW parent company Now Media, internet streaming allows the exporter to add life to web-site and direct emailing campaigns through video on demand. “We have set up the infrastructure to make captivating 60-second product sales videos, and host them on quick delivery servers worldwide at a very reasonable price,” says Now Media’s Anton Marsh. “This will enable the exporter to present his products to potential clients overseas by attaching a link to his email campaigns.” The secret lies in broadband internet connectivity which is available in most of the developed world. According to statistics, broadband subscriptions increased over 70% to 62 million in 2002, creating a powerful marketing opportunity. “Instead of sending a product video as an attachment and trying to download the file, we will produce the video and put it on 15 000 media servers around the world,” says Marsh. “Whether the recipient is in Sydney or Seattle, he merely clicks on the link to the video and it begins broadcasting.” Now Media has developed the in-house skills to script, edit and encode the video so that it is suitable for broadband internet.
