Shipwreckers slam into Durban shore

South Africa’s biggest charitable event for the freight industry is back for its final splash of the year, and this time it’s taking over Marbella Café in Umhlanga, Durban, on October 30.

“Get ready for a night where the ocean meets Halloween magic but, more importantly, a night where generosity meets action,” an event statement said.

Known for its wild themes and big-hearted purpose, Shipwreckers brings the industry together for a night of fun, fundraising and unforgettable vibes.

Earlier this year, Johannesburg showed the power of a united industry, raising R75 000 for children and communities in need.

Shipwreckers organiser Dirushen Pillay said: “Smiles were restored, dreams were nurtured, and lives were quietly transformed.”

This time it’s Durban’s turn to leave its mark.

“Shipwreckers will transform Marbella Café into a Halloween haven, with all proceeds supporting National Sea Rescue, Ayan Benevolent Home, and Lake Haven Children’s Home Durban. Every ticket sold, every donation made, and every moment on the dance floor will ripple out to make a real difference, from providing lifesaving support to vulnerable children, to ensuring that critical rescue missions can keep going,” the statement said.

Tickets are R260 per person and can be booked at: www.shipwreckers.co.za/NewEvent/SpookyHalloween#BuyTickets

“Durban, this is your chance to dance, laugh and give bigger than ever before. Together, let’s light up the night, lift our communities, and prove just how much we care. Every ticket, every donation, every moment counts, because real change happens when hearts come together,” Pillay said.

“One industry. One night. One unforgettable cause.”
