Seychelles law enforcement investigating Maersk Alabama deaths

Local law enforcement agencies are investigating the two deaths which occurred onboard the Maersk Alabama, currently berthed in Port of Victoria, Seychelles reports the global press. Reuters news agency broke the news yesterday (Thursday) that two American security workers had been found dead on the Maersk Alabama, a ship made famous by the Hollywood movie "Captain Phillips" in 2013. According to CNN.com, both men, aged 44, were working aboard the Maersk Alabama as security contractors from the Virginia-based Trident Group, according to Seychelles Police. A.P. Moller-Maersk said in a statement that the two men were found dead in a cabin on board the vessel on the afternoon of February 18 in Port of Victoria in the Seychelles. Maersk gave no details about how the two men had died. "The cause of the death for both men is part of the ongoing investigation, but it was not related to vessel operations or their duties as security personnel," the statement said.
