September 1 was D-day
for the new ruling that
requires all vehicle
owners to have their
vehicles microdotted
or to verify that the
vehicles have microdot
identification.
According to
the Road Freight
Association (RFA), the
new provision means
that all new and secondhand
vehicles registered
after September 1
must be fitted with
microdots.
In addition, the
Second Hand Goods
Act of 2009, which
governs the handling
of second-hand (used
goods), also stipulates
under Regulation 24
(1) (2) (d) that dealers
need to keep a secondhand
goods register
and record all its
particulars, including its
microdot identification.
