SASC launches membership drive

ALAN PEAT A NEW board has just been elected at this year’s annual general meeting of the SA Shippers Council (SASC). The members are: Farai Chamisa - Sasol - chairman; Kevin Odendaal - PPC – vice-chairman; and members: Albert Meiring - BHP Billiton; Dirk Nell - Columbus Stainless; Vasu Govindsamy - Bearing Man; Brenda Horne - Manganese Metal/MCLI. The council has decided to initiate a drive to try to encourage new members to join - especially the smaller companies, according to executive director, Nolene Lossau. “The SASC represents the cargo owners in all matters of principle related to the movement of goods,” she said. “I would like to invite any cargo owners interested in participating in the organisation to contact me on tel: (011) 887 0151; or email: nolene@mweb.co.za”
